Graphical problems

I have had some recent problems with playing my server game. The graphics seem to be glitching out causing either the screen to go black, or mixing up the pixels causing a 'fuzzy' effect and making it impossible to see detail. As well, going into the Commanders Report, or even moving a unit out of rail mode can cause the game to crash.

However, I also play my turn at work on my laptop, and while I usually get the black screen once when I start the game, it rarely has a problem.

Both computers run the latest in Windows 11, and all drivers are usually kept up. However, the laptop uses an NVidia graphics card (RTX 4060) and the desktop uses an AMD Radeon RX 7600.

Also there is a new Windows update on my desktop that is not yet on my laptop (2026-07 Preview Update (KB5101684) (26200.8973)) that may have messed up the desktop game.

Running WiTE2 doesnt appear to have any issues on either desktop or laptop.

Now I can understand that this game isn't getting any attention anymore from you guys, so this topic is not a call for help so much as to show other people who may experience this problem that they are not alone.

latest windows update worked for me, as while the others did mess up the game, the last few seem to have fixed what the others had broken and now the game works well again on 4k large screen sizes without any issues for me on the latest Nvidia drivers with a clean install of the drivers.

with just the normal exe edit of change the high DPI scaling override, tick and change by system, yes you still need to do it on each and every load, as windows just doesn't remember this now, now matter if running in full admin mode or not, and i am, but still it cares less and forgets what ever you put in after the game has closed, but once you get into the habit of doing it and re remember to keep doing it, the game works well, yes some members are using a shortcut now and and running a bat file that does this for you so you don't have to re do it manually each and every time, so use which ever suits you to keep enjoying the game
