Journey Through the Battlefields: eSIM for Bosnia

Post by Joachym »

Hi, I’ve been planning a trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina for several months now—about ten days next September—with Sarajevo and Mostar on the itinerary and probably a detour to Srebrenica if my schedule allows, as part of my ongoing interest in this conflict, which I’ve often discussed here in connection with the Slitherine games set in the Balkans... f The practical concern that’s been bugging me is connectivity while I’m there, because I plan to consult quite a few IGN military maps and historical documents on my tablet during my field visits particularly regarding the positions around Sarajevo during the siege—and a map that takes thirty seconds to load in the middle of a field kind of breaks the flow of the visit. After looking into it a bit, I came across several eSIM offers for Bosnia and Herzegovina that seem to provide a decent connection without having to go through a local carrier there. So I’m wondering if any of you have already tried this kind of solution on a similar trip, especially in rural areas, because Mostar and Sarajevo are one thing, but I imagine coverage around Srebrenica must be more hit-or-miss… If anyone has any concrete feedback on roaming in the region, I’d love to hear it, so I can be a little more prepared rather than running into problems once I’m there. All the best.
