**AAR — April 3rd, 1948**

**African Equatorial Africa Front — Battle of N'djamena**

As the **1st Army of the Amazigh** completes the encirclement of **N'djamena**, the battle for the strategic city has officially begun.

Over the past several days, Amazigh units have advanced steadily toward the city from multiple directions, securing the surrounding roads, river crossings, and key approaches. With the final positions now established, the encirclement has effectively severed N'djamena from outside reinforcement and placed the African garrison under mounting pressure.

Amazigh artillery has begun shelling defensive positions along the outer perimeter, targeting fortified checkpoints, supply depots, and suspected command posts. Infantry formations are probing the African lines, searching for weak points while engineers work to improve forward positions and prepare routes for a larger assault. Several clashes have already been reported on the northern and eastern approaches, where African troops have attempted to delay the tightening siege.

Inside the city, African forces are reportedly consolidating around major administrative buildings, transport hubs, and defensive strongpoints. While this is not nearly as detailed as Ernie's awesome GD1938 scenario, I have added a few resources cards, and emergency reserve call up cards. What I have learned programming isn't much, but it's all thanks to Ernie.

## May 28th, 1948 — Equatorial Africa Front

### Situation Overview

The situation across Equatorial Africa has reached a critical stage. The fighting around **Niamey and N’Djamena** has intensified dramatically, with the Amazigh forces committing increasing numbers of troops to destroy the remaining Equatorial African defensive positions.

The most alarming development is the complete encirclement of the **1st Equatorial Armee outside Niamey**. What began as an organized defensive battle has now become a desperate struggle for survival. The entire army is cut off from the remainder of Equatorial Africa and is rapidly running short of ammunition, food, fuel, and medical supplies.

Unless a relief operation can be organized, the 1st Armee may cease to exist as an effective fighting force.

### NIAMEY FRONT — 1st ARMEE SURROUNDED

The 1st Armee has now been completely surrounded by Amazigh forces outside Niamey.

For several days, Equatorial commanders attempted to maintain their defensive perimeter while searching for an opportunity to break through the encircling forces. Those opportunities have now disappeared. Amazigh infantry and mobile formations have sealed the approaches, while repeated attacks have steadily compressed the Equatorial defensive perimeter.

Reports reaching headquarters describe increasingly desperate conditions inside the pocket.

Ammunition stocks are being carefully rationed. Artillery units have been forced to conserve shells for only the most critical targets, while infantry formations are increasingly relying on machine guns and small arms to repel attacks.

The Amazigh command appears determined to destroy the 1st Armee rather than simply force it to retreat.

The consequences of such a defeat would be enormous.

The destruction of the 1st Armee would open the entire western approaches and potentially allow Amazigh forces to redirect thousands of troops toward N’Djamena.

For now, however, the defenders continue to hold.

Every hour gained is considered valuable.

### N’DJAMENA FRONT — THE CITY HOLDS

While the situation at Niamey deteriorates, the defenders of **N’Djamena** continue to fight with extraordinary determination.

The Amazigh **1st Corps** has launched several major attacks against the city. Wave after wave of infantry has attempted to break through the Equatorial defensive lines, but the defenders have refused to collapse.

The fighting has been particularly severe around the city's outer defensive positions.

Amazigh forces have managed to penetrate portions of the defensive perimeter on several occasions, only to be driven back by counterattacks.

Equatorial troops are suffering heavy casualties.

Entire defensive companies have reportedly been reduced to fractions of their original strength, yet the surviving soldiers continue to man their positions.

The city itself has become a battlefield.

### 2nd EQUATORIAL ARMEE ARRIVES

The most important development of the day has been the arrival of the **2nd Equatorial Armee**.

Fresh troops have finally reached the N’Djamena theater and have immediately been thrown into the battle.

Their arrival has prevented what could have become a catastrophic collapse.

The 2nd Armee has managed to establish a defensive position along a narrow opening leading into N’Djamena. This corridor is currently the only reliable route through which reinforcements and supplies can reach the defenders inside the city.

The corridor is extremely narrow and remains under constant enemy observation and attack.

Nevertheless, it is open.

For the first time in several days, ammunition, food, fuel, and replacement troops are beginning to reach the beleaguered defenders.

Medical units are also using the corridor to evacuate some of the most seriously wounded.

The importance of this route cannot be overstated.

**If the corridor remains open, N’Djamena can continue fighting.**

**If the corridor is cut, the city may quickly become isolated and face the same fate as the 1st Armee at Niamey.**

### AMAZIGH ATTACKS

The Amazigh command appears to recognize the importance of the situation.

Enemy attacks against the corridor have already begun.

Amazigh infantry formations are attempting to sever the connection between the 2nd Armee and N’Djamena, while other forces continue pressing the city's defensive perimeter.

This creates an increasingly dangerous situation for Equatorial command.

The Amazigh forces are effectively attempting to destroy the Equatorial armies separately:

1. **Destroy the 1st Armee at Niamey.**
2. **Cut the relief corridor into N’Djamena.**
3. **Encircle and destroy the defenders inside N’Djamena.**
4. **Then advance deeper into Equatorial Africa.**

The Equatorial command must prevent this sequence from occurring.
