Counter Values Dialog - possible bug

Post by Telumar »

I was looking into the Counter Values Dialog, curious what anti-fortification would be and found it not working. I then was curious about whether there were more that would not work and went through all of the single unit values (meaning I did not test stack values). I know a lot of these are rather arcane and I wonder if anyone ever used them in an actual game, but for what it's worth, here is what I found:

These do definitely not work as intended:

Anti-Fortification = displays value for Traffic Control
Nuclear Attack = displays value for Traffic Control
Bombardment defense = displays value for Traffic Control
Anti-Air All = displays sum of unit's AP+AT strengths instead of what it presumably should do: AA (low) + AA (high)

These do something, but is unclear, at least to me, what that value actually means or how it is derived. Does anyone know what these are exactly:

Anti Armor Defence
Terrain Check
Armor Defence

You can add Anti-Fortification and Bombardment defense to this list as even if they worked I wonder where these values might be derived from. Anti-fortification would be related to the capability of the unit to deliver a certain amount of weight of artillery fire I imagine but not sure.

EDIT: Tested with current official version 4.1.0.40 and current beta. I posted here because I thought maybe anyone knows what the three values that work, but are unclear to me mean.

Interesting analysis, thanks for sharing.
Which screens did you use to make the analyses? If you haven’t done so already, I’m interested to doing the same for the “Stack Attack” and “Stack Defense” settings.

I only tested the single unit display, not the stack values.
