No Russian Winter on first winter year.

I don't know what logic you use but not getting the Russian Winter in the first year of the German attack is total BS.

Russia needs this to hold off the Germans and to not get this event is a game braker for the Allies.

What is going on? It appears that if the Germans have a large force outside Russia the event does not trigger.

Fix this!

The Russian Winter is a variable event. It is not affected by the number of German units in theatre. It's been discussed on the forum before.

It may seem bad news for the Allies but it will hurt the Germans more when it fires in 1943 as there will be more German units to take losses.

I'm in my second game as the Allies vs another player, and Russian Winter has again failed to happen in 41-42. In the first game, it didn't happen at all. Now in January 42, still waiting.

I disagree that later is bad news for the Germans. No Russian Winter effect in the 41-42 Winter often means it doesn't matter, as a still robust Axis force is deep inside Russia by the end of 42 and Russia is on the verge of collapse. The winter of 41-42 is often the only thing keeping a really good Axis player from that.

Afaik the Winter event will happen automatically in spring 1942 if has not triggered by then.
If not, I'd consider it a real bug.

If it does trigger in Spring 1942 it is really bad news for the Germans because it delays the restart of combat operations.
The boosted forward HQs get damaged. Their boosting HQs too. So the forward HQs can not be repaired the very next turn as can not their forward units. The units can not even get repaired the turn after unless they cede ground and return backwards in better supply

No, it triggers randomly, possible from the first winter the year after Germany invades. So if you invade in 1940, the winter event can trigger already in 41.

Most people however invade in 41, so the first time it can happen is at the end of the first turn of 42, which is an allied turn. However, there is a small chance each turn that it won’t trigger. So if you are unlucky, it’s possible it won’t happen the first year or even the second year.

But yeah, I agree it not happening is bad news for Allies. The best outcome for the allies is that it doesn’t happen on their turn, but it happens on the last axis winter turn. In that case axis doesn’t get to repair units and boost morale by conquering some countries and allies can pick off weakened units asap, when the weather on the allied turn no longer has snow
