One battle I circled in yellow with yellow arrows pointing to it . Just note that stacking is checked all the time. Even on retreats. If there is no room to retreat the unit will be eliminated or take more losses from what I have seen. So make sure to remember this on your defense. Also know that stacking applies when you move. If a hex is at max stacking then a unit will be prohibited moving through the hex. It is that simple.
