Question about disabaling "Automatic Victory" & save slot for new scenario

Post by kaybayray »

Greetings <S> All

1st Question. Disabling Automatic Victory.
I am looking in the "Unofficial Editor Manual" and it is telling me that in the "Scenario" tab there is a "Scenario Variable/Options Panel". I am not seeing this options panel, unless the manual is referring to the 4 boxes at the bottom left side of the Scenario screen. I see buttons labeled "Locations" "Air Groups" "Main" and "Pilots". When I click on any of these four buttons I do not see anything labeled "Variables" or "Options". Am I looking in the wrong tab for this? I would appreciate any help finding this item so I can disable the Automatic Victory feature.

2nd Questions. What save slot to be used for my scenario?
I currently have been saving it in slot 026. I just read in the Unofficial Editor Manual that I can't overwrite slots 1-30. However I have been modding my scenario for almost a year now and saving it with no problems in slot 026. Do I need to move it to another slot that is above slot 030?

Thank you in advance for all replies.

This game is such a fantastic game. I love this editor too. I allows me to create the WWII Pacific War Game I want with the features that interest me. This community is also awesome. Everybody has been so kind and generous with help for my sometimes silly questions that are always my fault for not finding what I am looking for.

Thank You All <S>

Slots 1 to 25 are reserved. I believe that auto victory settings are hard coded. So not changeable....GP

Greetings <S>

I am getting conflicting results from both the Unofficial Editor Manual and the other Editor Manual using the Copilot feature. One sections tells me that you have to disable Automatic Victory when you start a new game using the Scenario Options tab when starting a new game. I am not seeing this feature when starting a new game. Another result states that you can access this in the Editor in the Scenario tab as I described in my original post. This one states that the "Victory Conditions" or "Scenario Options" are one of the four buttons I described but it is not.

So I am still stuck here. Not being able to disable this Automatic Victory feature is a show stopper for my scenario.

I concurr with btd64, the auto-victory seems to be hardcoded. But if I am not mistaken, the auto-victory screen allows to continue the game afterwards.

Greetings <S> All

Thank You btd64 and LargeSlowTarget for your kind replies.
That wold be excellent if you can continue the game after that point.

Can anybody confirm that that is actually the case? That after an "Automatic Victory" you can still continue the game if you choose to do so?

Thank You for any replies <S>

Yes you can. The game gives you the option to end the game or continue....GP
