Is there an easy way to add a custom race/specie?

Been wanted to try something, like add my own race/specie, but not as easy as i though to do. I did manage to work around some files and did something i like in the old DW:U. But this one is tricky to do. I tried install the stride, but it fail to load up.

Is there another way to do this without using that wonky stride tools?
