Out in the middle of nowhere I think I may have made a breakthrough of sorts. Or maybe not, we'll see. I'm on the east side of a north-south facing river so maybe I can get into the Soviet backfield up north and kill them against the river where they are defending. Roll up their flank so to speak.

This is what it looks like around the Moscow area right now. It's T35 and this is the third mud turn.

This is T35 just north of Rostov right now. The front lines are bent and complex but I'm making slow progress pushing to the east toward Stalingrad.

This is what it looks like in T39. I'm running into all kinds of resistance and with the mud I'm getting very few MP's for my units. I've not been attacking quite so much because I want to get my units ready for the Soviet Winter Offensive.

This is T39 just north of Rostov. I've managed to push all the way to the river separating me from Stalingrad, I'm just about to capture Rostov, cutting off Russia from down south. I'm making progress and the main thing holding me back is the low supply in these mud turns.

This is T41 before anybody has moved. I'm moving slowly because this is a mud turn, MP's are few, plus there's plenty of mud to trudge through; sometimes only a single hex can be gained. I've got some engineers repairing the rail going north from Leningrad eventually to feed the eastward areas. There's not much to be gained from pushing in the north besides forcing the Soviets to protect a longer front line so my priority is in the Moscow area right now. I'm attacking Tula and in the Yelets area I'm made a breakthrough although I don't have enough units to take advantage of it. I'm on the verge of stopping up Rostov, isolating Russia from the far south. I've decided to stop at the Kerch Bridge for now, since Stalingrad is more important. That's my second highest priority now.

This is the area around Yelets where I've made a sort of breakthrough but I'm thinking it's less than that. Maybe a place where I've taken advantage of a river to split his front line in one spot. If I had more units I might be able to flank both ends of the line, wrap his units up, destroy them and roll up his lines. I'm working on it.

This is what it looks like in T44. This may be last mud turn before the Soviet Winter Offensive, I'm not sure when it's supposed to happen but I think it's sometime soon. I'm having some trouble getting Murmansk, my units are out of supply because the rail coming from the south is broken in several places. That place I thought was a breakthrough turns out to be just a bulge in the lines. I seem to have broken through for sure down in the Stalingrad area not having many defenders between me and the city. I've stopped up Rostov real good.
