It depends how much granularity you want in tracking key tasks. You can also export the entire NGT state for that turn and upload it into copilot or something else and ask for recommendations.
Well, that's kind of the problem. When Microsoft updated Copilot yesterday it didn't synch properly and I don't have my most recent conversation threads where ALL the strategy Copilot and I have been forming the past 7 months was at. If I still had Copilot as my Chief of Staff we'd already have a good idea of what to do in each area since we formed our strategy earlier. Right now, if I don't hit a chat limit because of synch issues, this Copilot only knows we were talking about WitP but not the details.
That is the problem with relying on AI!

Gotcha - that's a pain! I would recommend exporting the NGT file and uploading that into Co-Pilot and that should jump start your strategy conversation.

I am in a PBEM

Issue: persistent error in political points value.
Issue: having to wait for compilation every time i click a tab makes it a significant continuity problem and time waster, since it is too short to do anything else.
issue: when i use the finder and for example put i-18 and click it it also shows i-181, i-182 i-183 etc in reports

I think the basic working should be this:

Initial setup: point the paths.
Every turn: run turn, option compile all reports in one go in background. give sound signal when finished.

As Jap side would like to attach ships and TF's to Base Forces(which in game are not HQ) is it possible?
Also have specific destroyers permanently attached to specific carrier TF, BB TF etc.

Post edited several times. Another issue i just found this was supposed to be ta TF with that name, but i notice it has LCU in front when i put i-24 there .

Hi !

I started writing a similar app , with a perpective on `predictive / proactive` Decision Support systems a week ago and but it seems I am beaten to the punch !. ( I dont check the forum for quite a while now ) .

This looks awesome ! So much must have gone into this. Just wanted to say , how grand this looks.

A question though : I have planned to build a harnest into the code to take in one of the mini AI models for the predictive analysis and possible enemy intentions. This will need some training and I have only my own data set of game outputs , where do you train your model ? I

I would encourage you to pursue your project also. Different perspectives offer different things, and you might find there's a class of players that would prefer your approach over mine or legacy Tracker. I appreciate the kind words!

NGT doesn't have a trained model. It just hooks into Gemini or Claude (player preference) and retrieves whatever is in NGT at the time.

Just posted NGT 6.75. It adds some features to make OOB construction quicker. And some tuning to make loading quicker also. The finder should be more effective but maybe not quite there yet. Haven't touched political points just yet, but that's on the to-do list.

Thank you for the return. One thing - I am searching for sample output from campaigns. can you possibly have some samples for my training ? we can even setup the baselines for the same training universe and then build some delta variation giving prompts to the harnessed AI to reflect commander characters...

I think you could to this in two ways:

- the game lets you set computer vs computer. You can then have your model examine the results.
- Claude (and I'm sure others) allow you to authorize it to play the game itself. You could either play against Claude or have Claude play both sides and record the lessons.

I dont know what the token usage will be here, 3 mts ago I had a overrun for my own line of work and it was not good. I am sure there must be some free to dispense combat report archives by other people.

One other thing, how do u interpret the pws files as you mentioned somewhere above ? is there a documentation for it ?

Once Microsoft sorts out the mess they made of this update and I have my thread history accessible (I can see the threads now but can't access them and still hit a chat limit after two posts it seems) I will definitely do this during the playing of the game.

A question: is there a limit to the number of tasks an operation can have?
PO2 US Navy (1980-1986);
USS Midway CV-41 (1981-1984)
Whidbey Island, WA (1984-1986)

You might be able to use the AARs? NGT is a locally saved file so it doesn’t store or communicate anyone’s campaign information to anyone else.

Theres no single place of documentation about parsing the pws files. They’re unencrypted and their meaning can be worked out by comparing changes across turns. I know there’s been utility tools in the past that do this (can’t speak to their completeness), and scattered forum discussions about specific data blocks in the file.

Glad to hear it. Thanks for the feedback. Let me know how the campaign goes, and also if there's any changes you'd like to see in NGT.
