Unofficial Manual

Post by Chris21wen »

OK, it stick head above parapet time.

Attached is an unofficial manual for War in the Pacific AE based on v28.4. Note the new update should be coming out soon and it is entire likely that something will change.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vbxBX- ... drive_link

The original manual is way out of date, it never kept up with the many changes made and it lacked or was obscure in basic game play content. The new manual is better but it appears to only cover changes made on or around v28.4. The end result of all this missing stuff is an almost endless and oft repeated questions about game play, and not just by new players.
For example there's sections on Pilot training, Command line switches, Symbols etc. This is an attempt to rectify this.

The main body of the manual, up to and including section 20 all have significant changes but I've tried to follow the existing manual layout. The only change made to the remaining sections is the addition of a Symbols (section 22.1.4) and there's no index. An index with a pdf is not needed, use search or advanced search. Printings a different matter!

I've also tried to standardise the words and expression so the pdf search can find all reference to something. E.g. Air group and air unit are all one now.

This isn't perfect and there will be errors, to start with I don't have access to the code. Every change here is based on taken from Game change histories, observation, testing and above all else other players, some no long on the forum.

If you find any errors in the manual, disagree or stuff that makes no sense etc. etc. please let me know. I will if they prove correct I will make the appropriate changes to the manual.
