Steel Tigers
Is this even a thing anymore? Sorry, I tried searching for this here but nothing came up but an overly outdated thread.
Have the developers indicated if they're even working on this? I'd think this would be a no brainer considering how many people played Steel Panthers.
So...just read on Reddit that they indeed are working on it, but no time line as to when it will be done.

RE: Steel Tigers
We put quite a bit of development into Steel Tigers, but had to pause it to complete War in the East 2. As mentioned earlier, it's planned to be 2by3's next project once WITE2 post-release support starts consuming less of their time, which may take a while.

It's dismaying how there used to be communication about ST from Matrix staff.. now, and for the past couple years, nothing.
I would gladly sell a kidney if necessary to fund my purchase of a modern iteration of SP from Matrix.

I suggest that you don't sell one of your kidneys because I have seen what dialysis does to people and if you only have one kidney and it has a problem . . .
That said, if you sell any body organ or part of one, you can part with 1/3 of your liver and it will grow back.
It would be nice to hear about Steel Tigers but if you have Steel Panthers you still have a lot of campaigns and scenarios to play through.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

Sorry for this discussion but doctors decide part of the liver. After liver transplant they advice breath exercise for lungs not to become smaller, as liver got bigger and lungs become smaller. it is crucial for donator.RangerJoe wrote: Sat Sep 12, 2026 12:34 amYour kidney or someone elses?Matt R wrote: Wed Sep 02, 2026 4:52 pm It's dismaying how there used to be communication about ST from Matrix staff.. now, and for the past couple years, nothing.

Wow, I never seriously expected someone to take a euphemism to such an extent. Anyway, in plain English..RangerJoe wrote: Sat Sep 12, 2026 12:34 am Your kidney or someone elses?

That is the problem with using euphemisms, slang, or other such things on an international messaging board. Even different vernaculars of English can have issues. For example, while you might like American biscuits with gravy you probably wouldn't like English biscuits with gravy!Matt R wrote: Mon Sep 14, 2026 1:15 pmWow, I never seriously expected someone to take a euphemism to such an extent. Re: Steel Tigers
Back to ST..
I've designed scenarios, campaigns, and graphics that have made it into the official releases of both WaW and WinSPMBT. The infantry icons you see in the last iteration of WaW are my creations from 2004. The insurgent flag graphic in MBT is mine, which I value highly because the producers of that game are not easy to impress. I also produced my own standalone American Civil War mod for WinSPWW2. I'm well aware of the volume of exquisite playability for what's already out there.
I guess what I really want is up-to-date graphics and compatibility with current PCs. Something that is not a kludge, though I do treasure the workarounds that are out there.
I dunno. Whatever ST or a new iteration of SP may be, whether I like it or not, I will happily pay for it.

Unless village or small town I can assure 'selling kidneys' in nowadays international in internet language. Even most old preverbs in the past have common meaning internationally. Humankind has 10 thousand years of experience, say what was American language today perhaps had meaning in Hittites or Greek.RangerJoe wrote: Mon Sep 14, 2026 1:48 pmThat is the problem with using euphemisms, slang, or other such things on an international messaging board. What is a preverb, is that a word that comes before the verb or an addition to a verb word?

Re: Steel Tigers
No, preverb comes from proverb. And proverbs comes from human kind. Technology brings new words no doubt.
