unable to withdraw BB Nevada

Post by robertkeller »

BB Nevada has to be withdrawn by 6/14/43. It had systems damage of 55 so I moved it to San Francisco to repair the damage early. However it has sat in SF for months without any improvement in the 55 systems damage number. I have placed repair ships at SF, have tried Shipyard and Pierside (it won't go to repair ship as a choice even tho the the harbor has one). I now have -687 political points which ruins the game... I have to get the damage below 50 to withdraw but this now seems impossible.....any suggestions or help will be much appreciated.

I don't know how to do that since when the game is playing I can not minimize the screen and go to another. When I display the ships being repaired the Nevada line shows the systems damage # 55 in red, the "Scheduled Withdrawal 43/06/15" line is red; the Aircraft Capacity 2 is red (used is green) and the "Withdraw ship OVERDUE" line is red. Hope that helps.

Windows has a program called Snippet or something like that. Mine is in the tray at the bottom of the screen. If you can't find it, do a search....GP

I tried that but even with a smaller screen shot nothing else works....i.e., right/shift etc....all I can do is get out of the game....apparently my description of the screen wasn't helpful??

No, screenshots are required to get an idea of what the problem is. Move the ship to Alameda and see what happens. Also start making saves for a 30 day stretch....GP

The first thing you need to do is run it in a window which requires the use of command switches. See here
https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewtopi ... 4&t=392927
or here
https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewtopi ... 4#p3986284

To save you time here's my exe and switches

War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -pxf1900 -pyf1000 -cpu4 -dd_sw -altFont -multiaudio -deepColor -skipVideo -archive -w

Just copy it to target in properties of the shortcut you use to run the game. It will rune the game in a 1920x1080 window with a small space around it.

I don't understand this. Are you saying you can't post the image or take the shot?

Open snipping tool. A small window will open over the game.
press new
drag a box around the thing you want. Should be the shipyard in SF through 'Show ships under repair' located bottom right side of ships at anchor.
save it.

You then need to go to the forum and post the attachment.

You have been playing into 1943 so it does not appear there is anything wrong with your installation.
Perhaps you have Nevada in Pierside repair mode and can't with draw it? I think it has to be at least in availability mode (disbanded but not in repair) before it can be withdrawn.
Lack of repair in SFO is rare but if you have been piling ships in there for repair or conversion you could be using up the repair points. You could try making Nevada's repair High Priority and reducing priority of other ships already on High Priority.

His system damage is 55. It won't withdrawal until that number is below 50. That was his main problem....GP

Yes, but he said no repairs were taking place when he had it disbanded in SFO. So either no points were available (other ships had priority) or the ship was ineligible to receive the repairs (transitioning between pierside and readiness mode taking 3 days?) Or possibly it takes several days to repair one point of damage (shouldn't for System damage, but Float damage can take priority).
