So, I bought this game the day it was released on the promise that there would be an AI opponent. Looking at the forum, it seems like development stopped a long time ago. Is that correct?

Technically no, but there has been miniscule progress in the last few years.

Was there not at least one person working on the AI and stuff full time?
Has the main developer died or something? :(

He is working on the AI.

Does few things about the game as it is, including solving a few of the bugs occasionally.

It seems he is doing that work alone or almost alone, since he isnt working with the Beta testers (or most of them) anymore. So the work goes very slowly even in the AI.

I don't hope to see a working AI for this game ever, nor seeing some bugs addressed, like the convoy routes' one, the 1 minute lag per unit to move that comes occasionally, or the "unlimited" reorg supply reaching only 10 hexes.

These are, I think, the most important issues at the moment. Even if the AI was completed, these should be addressed as it can make the game very unpleasant to play.
