Launcher Utility

Post by RedConkristador »

The launch utility manages your:

* various installations
* your command line switches
* change your map, unit, and icon styles
* rotate load screen photos

[strike]Your Google Drive link is access-restricted. Could you enable 'Anyone with the link'?[/strike]

Never mind! I initially got a "no access" page from Google docs, but then I noticed that a WitPAE_LaunchManager download page had opened in a new tab.

False alarm it seems

I encountered a bug in Launch Manager v3.0 that produces an unhandled PowerShell exception during installation discovery:

The property 'MapHistory' cannot be found on this object.

The problem was in LaunchManager.ps1, function New-InstallRecord, at lines 76–79.

The original code:

Code: Select all

function New-InstallRecord($path, $name) {
return [pscustomobject]@{ Name = $name; Path = $path; Program = "standard"; Display = "full"; Autosave = "off"
Flags = [pscustomobject]@{}; Other = ""; RotatePhotos = $false; Notes = ""; LastPlayed = "" }
}
This does not initialize the MapHistory and MapAck properties, although both are referenced elsewhere in the program.

The manager recognized my AE installation and created several map-data snapshots, but a recurrent error appeared whenever "Find installs" was selected. At least on first initialization, the "AE" installation also failed to appear in the top panel.

My handy robot assistant and I made a small modification to address the glitch:

Code: Select all

function New-InstallRecord($path, $name) {
return [pscustomobject]@{ Name = $name; Path = $path; Program = "standard"; Display = "full"; Autosave = "off"
Flags = [pscustomobject]@{}; Other = ""; RotatePhotos = $false; Notes = ""; LastPlayed = "";
MapHistory = @(); MapAck = "" }
}
Essentially, the correction just adds the missing properties to the object initializer:

Code: Select all

MapHistory = @(); MapAck = ""
Interestingly, Get-Settings already contains logic to add these properties to previously saved installation records, but newly constructed records weren't receiving the same initialization.

Thanks for your interest. I consolidated everything (utility, maps, new scenario) into one download here: https://forums.matrixgames.com/viewtopic.php?t=418667
