Re: A Competitive GW (Solo) Scenario by the Numbers.
Turn 23. May/June 1943. Allied #4. Asian/Pacific Theater.
(1) Nationalist Cav div liberates Chunking, which causes the Japanese controlled Chunking Warlord (in Chengdu) to defect, and continues on adjacent to a now empty Chengtu.
(2) The US army 2nd mot div liberates Peking, which causes the Japanese controlled Peking Warlord to defect.
(3) These two defections cost Japan 4 BPs.
(4) US & CW land moves, in addition to the liberation of Peking, focused on cutting supply to IJA forces in China (except at Canton).
(5) The majority of the China's cost line has been liberated by the US & CW and returned controlled back to the Nationalist Chinese.
(6) With the exception of Canton & Port Arthur (in Manchuria), whether or not Japan has supply through the China Sea in no longer relevant to Japanese forces outside of the Japanese Home Islands.
(7) However; the USN/RN desperately wish to break supply through the China Sea in order to (re) isolate the flip defenders in Canton & prevent them from reorganizing and for any the IJN fleet (all flipped) being oiled.
(8) Chinese production is homing along at levels not seen since 1939 (i.e., 6 BPs).

Turn 23. May/June 1943. Allied #4. Asian/Pacific Theater.
(1) USMC 2nd div moves back from it's Japanese controlled island to Pusan, Korea.
(2) The US army 2nd mot div & UK WDF tank corps flip control of eastern (mostly on the coast) China north up to Soviet controlled northeast China.
(3) The IJA in the interior of China between Tungwan & Lanchow is now isolated, with the exception of 1 Yamamoto HQ-I, the only 1 of 4 organized IJA HQs in China.
(4) This exception is that Yamamoto can, and will likely at some time, provide emergency HQ supply to 4 organized (or as many organized) units in range of Yamamoto.
(5) So Mao and his battered/surviving CCP armies needs to be careful about that threat.
(6) In Siam the 1st Ind inf corps liberated/captured Bangkok, so Siam will surrender to the CW at the end of the turn.

(1) IJA used on 1 of their 3 authorized (by combine) land moves.
(2) 410 mm arty div moved to Fukuoka, which places it in position to support (if necessary) the IJA 1st Mtn Div holding the critical Tsushima Island (SW).
(3) 1/3 (or 33%) of all IJA land units are flipped with many isolated; however, 2 units that are flipped but not currently isolated, are holding Canton.
(4) Note that the entirety of Japan's airforce (ground & naval) consists of a single Ki-30 (Ann) bomber wing (currently flipped) in Sasebo, Japan.
(5) On a more positive note for Japan, their pact with the USSR (reestablished last axis impulse #3), is currently still in effect.

Turn 23. May/June 1943. Axis #5. Axis Command.
Allocation of German Land & Air forces.
(1) The Western Allied invasion of France has help Stalin by pulling land & air units away from the Eastern Front.
(2) Only German land & air units are currently serving on the Eastern & Arctic fronts versus the USSR.
(3) German land & air units on the Western Front are significantly augmented by Italy.
(4) 67% of German land units, 69% of land strength (i.e., LCF) is in the East (Eastern & Arctic) vs 22.6% units/24.1% strength in the West.
(5) If Italian units are included then it's 58.5% units/62.5% strength in the East (again all German) vs 28.2% units/28.8% strength.
(6) For air (German only) it's 52% air units/32.6% TAC strength/27% air-to-air strength in the East vs 40% air units/28.1% TAC strength/34.8% air-to-air strength in the West.
(7) With Italian air units included it's 39.4% air units/30.5% TAC strength/22.0% air-to-air strength (all German) in the East vs 54.5% air units/32.6% TAC strength/46.8% air-to-air strength in the West.
(8) Let me know what you think about these allocations (especially after seeing the remaining Western & Eastern/Arctic theater posts).

Land Move - (Pre) Land Combat Resolution.
(1) The Soviets are celebrating the turn of weather from fine to storm on the Eastern Front.
(2) Well, storm over the arctic portion of that front.
(3) It's rain over the portion in the north temperate zone.
(4) And unfortunately for the Soviets, this presents Germany will very good attack/counterattack opportunities in the Stavropol sector.
(5) To be exact, three opportunities that is ...

Turn 23. May/June 1943. Axis #5. Eastern Front.
(1) Vologda at risk but capture would require flip & isolation of non-elite Ge inf corps.
(2) Bryansk at risk (of liberation)!
(3) Germany's position in front and southwest of Moscow is fragile!
(4) In the south; however, road to Stalingrad and the oil fields of the Caucuses is opening up.
(5) The Red Army took major losses there this impulse and their troops are greatly thinning.

Turn 23. May/June 1943. Allied #7. Atlantic Theater.
(1) Several Atlantic air assets "on loan" this turn to Allied Western Front Air Commands.
(2) Which will be kept (i.e., transferred from Atlantic to Western Front Air) is yet to be seen.
(3) The allies (specifically USN Atlantic Air Command) committed a tactical mistake; actually a oversight, this impulse.
(4) And that was to fly out the Hudson A-29 based in Greenland (Cape Farewell) to North Atlantic [1].
(5) This naval air would have positioned the A-29 to remain at sea, move down to the 0-box at the end of the turn & be in ideal convoy escort position at the very start of next turn.
(6) The US had air moves left over from their combine, so it wasn't that the US didn't have the air moves.
(7) They just forgot to make the Naval Air move!
(8) There is a 63% that the allies will get another impulse this turn allowing the US Atlantic naval command to fix this oversight.
(9) However; the reality is that the allies hope the turn ends, even on this impulse (10%), sooner than later.
