Turn 23. May/June 1943. Allied #10. Eastern Front.

(1) As noted in the Land Move summary table (previous post), Volgograd captured by Germany last impulse was liberated during land movement by the Soviet 4th mech divison.
(2) The Soviets are holding strong in the central from northwest of Moscow to the RP southeast of Voronezh in the south along the Don river.
(3) However; south of that Stalingrad will most surely fall if the turn continues with snow/fine weather (48%) & the Soviets oil fields north are wide open.
(4) The Soviets desperately need the turn to end (40%).
(5) Regardless; Western Allied commands across the globe have been tasked by the Combine Chiefs to start formulating plans for organizing and deploying expeditionary forces to Azerbaijan (specifically Baka & E1-Baku).
(6) Also, Magic is picking up communications between Germany & Turkey pressuring/enticing Turkey to enter the war on the side of Germany.
(7) This has the Western Allies concerned about the exposure of Syria and the Middle East to such an event.

Turn 23. May/June 1943. Allied #10. Western Front.

Land Moves.

(1) As noted previously, 2 CW division were moved (debarked) out of the Brittany bridgehead for maneuver, allow more corps to debark into the bridgehead & prep of blitz vs 2 flipped German corps in St-Malo.
(2) With the CW taking a combine to pull out the 2 division & for a fruitless search in the China Sea, the UK was limited to 3 land moves.
(3) They made judicious use of those 3 land moves to allow the US to maximize the blitz vs St-Malo.
(4) Also, with CW units, which didn't have to move, participating in the land combat assault in Asia for IJA in Canton, the 3 CW land moves were used to move the UK mot div starting adjacent to St-Malo away from the combat area.

Turn 23. May/June 1943. Allied #10. Western Front.

St-Malo, France (2/2).
(1) Again, with even air-to-air odds the air-to-air combat was BRTUAL for the Western Allies, who lost 2 FTR3 & 2 PIL (10 BP) versus the Luftwaffe losing FTR3 (3 BP)!
(2) While, the US blitz produced a victory with no loss or flip, it also didn't kill either of the German (MIL, inf corps) defender.
(3) Though only have of the Luftwaffe initially allocated ground support (6 of 12 TAC) managed to get through, this did save Germany 5 BPs.
(4) So the net effect of the air-to-air combat was to cost the Western Allied 10 BP & save Germany 2 BPs (i.e., 3 loss - 5 saved = -2 net loss or +2 again.

Turn 23. May/June 1943. Allied #10. Western Front.

Western Allied vs Euro-Axis Air Comparison.
(1) Even with the lose of 2 long range FTR-3, the Western Allies (RAF & USAAF) have air parity with the Euro-Axis (Germany & Italy) on the Western Front.
(2) Though parity is not what the allies want, they want air superiority & eventually sumpremency.
(3) But at this point in the war, parity is what they have and what they're going to have to operate & fight under.
(4) The Western Allies have 6 bombers & 10 fighter wings versus Euro-Axis 3 bomber & 13 fighters.
(5) Air-to-Air (total): 81 Western Allies vs 76 Euro-Axis.
(6) TAC (total): 34 Western Allies vs 27 Euro-Axis.
(7) STRAT (total); 34 Western Allies vs 8 Euro-Axis (this category is less important of the Euro-Axis; but NOT for the Western Allies).

Turn 23. May/June 1943. Allied #10. Atlantic Theater.

Three things of note:

(1) Mexican FTR rebasing from air escort reactive base (eventually) back to Mexico in order to move the FTR to the reserve pool and for the US to gain an extra PIL.
(2) Significant portion of allied Atlantic Air command currently on-loan to Western Front operations (including North Sea).
(3) US did fly out their A-29 Hudson from Greenland to North Atlantic[1] & in position to SAS and cover (escort) CPs in [0] at the start of next turn (this mentioned previously).

Turn 23. May/June 1943. Allied #10. Asian Theater.

North West China (CCP Sector).
(1) Mao forgoes providing offensive HQ support to ensure 0% loss and accepts 2% risk of having to lose his Lanchow MIL army.
(2) The reason was pressure from the Western Allies not to flip (Mao), in which case the 1 saved oil China has wouldn't be enough to reorg both Mao & Nationalist Chinese fighter without expending the oil.
(3) The Western Allies want the Nationalist Chinese fighter reorg to preserve the ability for the Chinese to search 1 impulse next turn in the China Sea, allowing the Western Allies all to take a land.
(4) So 2% risk, not a worry?
(5) Well, it was a worry, as the CCP hit the 2% 2D10=3 (only roll) that produced a loss.

Turn 23. May/June 1943. Allied #10. Asian/Pacific Theater.

(1) 8 Chinese coastal hexes still Japanese controlled.
(2) Most dangerous is the hex adjacent to Shanghai.
(3) The risk is from the threat of inf div debarking from a CA/BB into one of these hexes (especially the one adjacent to Shanghai).
(4) It's a priority for the US/CW to liberate all these Japanese controlled coastal hexes.

Production.
(5) The "off the books" FIC Hanoi RP trade to China will get all 6 undamaged Chinese factories production (6 BPs).
(6) There is a 6% risk of a partisan occupying that RP (so be it!).
(7) Also, until an a land route can be open up from a currently convoyed RP, or to another one liberated in the future, US production is losing the Seoul factory production.
(8) This could also be solved by getting another allied CP into the China Sea (Formosa RP -> Seoul); however, the chance of the allies getting another impulse this turn is 30%.
(9) And honestly, all the allies would be happy if the turn ends this impulse; especially, the Soviets!

(2) Turn ends on D10=1 (4 or less required).
