milo, looking at these screenshots I think I can put my finger on the reason the game feels so cinematic and cool, the backgrounds are awesome! Its not just a starfield, its hazy and looks much more interesting than just a bunch of white dots. The planets also have great textures and really add to the feeling of the game.
