Games Series Questions

Post by scout1 »

Was a Beta tester way back when for the original title though didn't really have enough time to do it justice .....
Love the WEGO system for any game .... Unit stacking was challenging for me to keep track of things, but really didn't like that the Desert War lacked any campaign(s) ... I'm not a big fan of tactical/operational scales that don't pull in the big picture ....

My question concerns the following two titles, Stalingrad and Overlord ..... Do these include campaigns or are they limited to a series of "battles" ?

My apologies asking about campaigns as the product page(s) answer this .....

They list campaigns for Stalingrad and Overlord, though they identify these as links scenarios, which in my book is not a campaign to me ... Unless I'm missing something here ....

Well, Overlord has a 135 turn scenario.

Desert War was 3 years long so it's impossible to have a 3 turns a day scenario for any length of the war in north Africa, so it's more Battles in North Africa... maybe Battles Of North Africa or something would have been a better name, but too late for that.

Stalingrad takes place over 4 months so same issue, so it has linked scenarios. Overlord on the otherhand, is relatively shorter.

To do the complete Stalingrad, it would have to be at a higher strategic level with regiments or even divisions and a day per turn... but this is lower level.

cheers,
Brian

Thanks for the response Brian ....

Don't mean to complain, was trying to sort out what "campaigns" were available. Didn't realize these are 3 turns per day by design so makes sense to limit things at an operational level ... Just not what I'm looking for at the moment....
