Remove 'Acquiring Serial' Box?

For the new Unity patch, it seems that internet connection is required to get the serials (re)registered? I play this game on a computer that doesn't have internet connection. It looks like I can play the game, but there is a shaded box near the top of the screen with the message 'Acquiring serials info' Is there a way to get rid of this?

Same issue here. Does not stop me playing this much improved game, but if I could get rid of it I would.

10 years later... Anyone has a solution for this? It should be possible somehow to convince the game that it has already failed to acquire the serial info? It never seems to time out, and it is no fun to try to play battles with that distracting box covering part of the upper screen. Can't close it more move it.

Found a workaround. Just check the console log... It prints out what request it is trying to make. No reverse engineering or patching of the game or network snooping needed. Intentionally vague.

Since servers never stay online forever, eventually those requests are going to fail for everyone, not only those of us playing offline. An official patch would be nice. Game was barely playable with that annoying message covering part of the map.

The game keeps making those requests every time it is started, unfortunately. Otherwise there would probably be some easy way to disable it by marking it as "done" somewhere. But no such luck. Without a real patch the game must be tricked every time or the annoying message is back.
