Version 2.0 now works - default directory install

Frank Hunter's Campaigns on the Danube is an operational study of the campaigns along the Danube in 1805 and 1809. Campaigns on the Danube's system focuses on trying to present the player with the same sort of decisions placed on their historical counterparts; how to feed an army and move that army according to a plan, all the while trying to fight a campaign. There is also an option to allow players to play out the battles with miniatures and input the results.

Version 2.0 now works - default directory install

Post by Adam Parker »

Regarding my thread "Problems with Version 2.0" I can report the game now runs fine.

I deleted the game, reinstalled with all default options including the default directory and everything looks fine. I didn't need to adjust any of my hardware. I'm still running DX8.1 and am playing on a 19 inch CRT with 1280x1024 resolution set. The game map of course only fills part of the screen.

Scrolling is a little jerky. I'll see if any bugs creep in pending the patch I've heard about here. I still honestly do not know what the game will look like on a non-native 1024x768 LCD screen.

But the thing is for those following my prior thread, the game runs and the download with fast internet was very smooth.

Frank, it seems you do have some sort of issue with the install directory. Ron Dockall did too with his Russo-German War.

Thanks for those who gave advice here as always. I hope my posts have helped,

Adam.
