Anti-aircraft upgrades

Post by Jon_Hal »

Hi guys! Is there a list somewhere that has the anti-aircraft upgrades for the ships... DO they upgrade automatically or do I have to send them back to Pearl? How many upgrades are there? Thanks for any info on this subject!

I have a home made list at home, but I don't know if it is anywhere close to complete, I would love to see an offical list. You need to send them back to Pearl for the upgrades, but you can also get Radar and ASW (deapth charges) upgrades as well. Again I don't know of anything deffinate. One other point, some ships have as many as three levels (2 upgrades) but I don't know if these upgrades can be done back to back or if they are only availible after a certain date or what. It seems to me this info should be made availible, if Pearl could upgrade a ship I doubt they would have kept it a secert.

for upgrades, you must send your ships back to Pearl.
I also do not know how many there are, so I normally send back ships when I am certain that there is an upgrade available (if a CA fresh from Pearl has an AA value of 1432, and the ones I have in Noumea has 932, and they belong to the same class, I exchange them and send the others back to Pearl. I generally try to put the best AA forces in my CV-Taskforces. Every little bit helps in the beginning).

I think it is in the complete scenario 17 OOB excel file that covers everything.

As the guy that compiled the scenario 17 OOB, I have to say that there is no list of ship AA upgrades in it. I wish there were but I've been unable to figure them out with enough certainty to include it.

wich file it was.
Hey Tanjman
is there any way you can save that file in another format as I no longer have excel.

Which program are you using? I'm using MSExcel 97 and can save the OOB in a differnt format, but I do not know which one would work for you. Let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I started an Excel Sheet last year with AA/Radar/ASW Upgrade for USN/IJN. Just made a H2H scenario with 7 day turns and no fighting at all. Sent back all ships as soon as they arrived. That way I got a list that still has some gaps to be filled:

- no IJN ship got any Upgrade IIRC
- as USN I did not get every type of ship, so I could not send it back and see if it gets an upgrade or not
- all BBs are missing [:(]
- no ASW upgrades for USN either
- I'm not sure if I wrote down everything correctly (just saw that DD Mahan gets a SC radar with the second upgrade (could be such an error)

So I suggest that everyone who is willing to fill some of the gaps may contact me (gecko262@gmx.net) and I'll send the excel sheet by email.

bye, gecko

Hey Cmdr Toast, www.openoffice.org. It handles Excel files just fine. It's also Free in every sense of the word. Except for being a big download.
