Day 5 14:26

Eleven hours left to try and inflict as much damage as possible......

The Notts Yeomanry and the 13/18 Hussars are to advance into Kranenburg whilst the 2nd Guards sets up an "anvil". The Grenadier Guards are to advance north in the direction of Zyfflieh but hold a north south line on the road. At the same time the 8th Armoured which has received a pounding at the hands of a combat strength 4 unit (with only eight armoured cars!?!? Yeah, right) dug in just to the east of Zyfflieh is to repeat it's attempts to gain Zyfflieh.

Here is the final situation. Given another day I would have wiped out the German forces in the polder at the east of the map. Equally, I was completely oblivious to the progress (or infact existence) of KG Hermann coming up the centre. I like to think that the Irish Guards would have come to the rescue :-).

That was great fun but bloody hard work. I need a beer. And the 2nd 505th deserve a bunch of medals and a month on R&R - I might do better next time, I very much doubt that they will.

Patrick

Edit - PS. I hate to imagine what might have happened if I'd been on painfully realistic order delay....
