MCNA Summer Reading List

Post by 11Bravo »

Here is a great book about the fighting in North Africa. It makes a great companion to the MCNA battles.

Rommel's War in Africa, by Wolf Heckmann, 1981. Available in English and German.

Very enjoyable reading about Rommel and the fighting up to El Alamein by a German author. Look for it in your library!

Hi 11Bravo,

yes indeed the book is pretty good. However I think Heckmann has quite an Axe to grind with Rommel - and sometimes it's getting rather dull - IMHO.

Another good book on this topic is:
"Gefangener meiner Zeit" from Hans von Luck (ISBN: 3813203646 - sorry only for the German version) which has some chapters about von Luck and Rommel in Africa - about 80 pages.
Ciao
