Upgrade paths

I personally searched (had all messages for the past 365 days posted) for information on this and cannot find it.
What are the upgrade paths for aircraft? In particular, to what will P39s upgrade? Inversely, what a/c upgrade to P47s?

In my present game I have had 40 or so P47s in the pool for the past month. I pulled two squadrons of P39s back, one each to Brisbane and Noumea, in hopes that one of them would shed the horrid Airacobras but nothing has happened. It sure would be nice to get some 'Bolts into the fray, so any suggestions would be welcome.

According to Spooky's site the P-39s and P-40s only upgrade to P-38s. The P-47s are only good for replacing losses for the few Thunderbolt squadron's you get latter in the game.

mostly i think that the aircobra upgrades to the P-38...Spookys site has a good upgrade list...unfortunatly i am at work and don't have his address on me....it is def. on this site though...i'll try to find it before my boss gets back

Thanks, Dunk... I guess that's typical USAAF efficiency: upgrade single engine pilots to twin engine. I would have thought differently, thus my choice of trying for the upgrade to the P39 squadrons. I've been losing too many P38s for there to be full scale squadron upgrades...

It's a catch 22. You need the P-38s desperately, but you need them in strength to make a big difference. By the time you get the P-47s you have F4Us and who cares.
