SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

I believe it's still in testing, should be out soon, IIRC.

Yep, it's still being tested and polished. The finished version should be ready in a few days.

If you can't wait that long, email me and I'll point you to the beta.

Ok, so it's been a few days...
...and it will be a few more :(

Since some of you are quite keen for this, I feel an explanation for the delay is in order. The main reason is simply that I need this to be as close to perfect as possible. It must do everything you could reasonably ask it to, and it must do that with minimal problems. Where there are problems, they must be well documented, to allow you to work around them.

I have this obsession with perfection, because I have seen the future, and there is no Mountainiser - there is Terraformer. Mountainiser and the other Quickies are a dead end. Terraformer will be everything Mountainiser and the Quickies are, and much, much more. Terraformer will be able to be fully customised - it will be programmable. It will be a far more elegant solution to the challenge of performing mass changes on maps.

When I stop work on Mountainiser (and the associated Quickies), it will be finished - there will be no more updates, no more features. Not even bug fixes. It has to work first time, because there won't be a second time.

After completing Mountainiser, I will shift my attention towards Terraformer, a far more worthy project, but one that won't happen overnight. This will take a lot of time.

This is the reason I'm trying to pack perhaps more than I should into Mountainiser, and why I need it to be as close to bug-free as I can manage.

So what exactly can you expect to find in this new Mountainiser? As well as raising mountains, it will contain the functionality of all my other Scenario Design Quickies, with many enhancements, and a few new ones thrown in for good measure. To give you an idea of what I mean, here are a few screenshots (all about 10kB): Mountainiser, Inferior Roads, Mud Machine and Smoke Machine. All of these are from the same program. Hopefully, you can see from these that the wait will be worthwhile.

I intend to release fully functional 2nd beta to everyone in a few days (or maybe that should be Real Soon Now ;)). It should work well, but in case it doesn't, I will accept bug reports and fix what I can. Whatever happens, after one week, I'll release the final version. Any bug reports I receive after that time will be attached to Terraformer.

Thanks for your patience :)

ectizen.
