latest on test plan

Gary Grigsby's World At War gives you the chance to really run a world war. History is yours to write and things may turn out differently. The Western Allies may be conquered by Germany, or Japan may defeat China. With you at the controls, leading the fates of nations and alliances. Take command in this dynamic turn-based game and test strategies that long-past generals and world leaders could only dream of. Now anything is possible in this new strategic offering from Matrix Games and 2 by 3 Games.

latest on test plan

Post by Joel Billings »

A few things have come up that will keep us from getting a test version out until next week. Hopefully we'll have a tester forum set up for World at War soon (when Bart gets back in town) and he'll let you know how to get on this and how to access the ftp site. Once that happens we'll communicate via the tester forum. My goal is to post an alpha version for test by sometime next Tuesday, but this could easily get pushed back some more depending on how things go in the next week. I'm looking forward to getting the game into the hands of testers so we can start getting feedback. We've been working on this game off and on now for over 18 months with only a few people outside the design group having a chance to play it.

Bart should be setting up the forum today. As for the Alpha version, I need to write up some notes for the testers and I'm waiting for the art for the production screen which is supposed to come in today sometime. I'm not sure when everything will come together, but it might be a few more days.

If you haven't gotten your NDA into Bart, please do so ASAP. I'm having problems getting into the new tester forum, but as soon as we work that problem out I'll be posting some documentation on the game (hopefully tomorrow). We need the assigned testers to get their NDA's in ASAP so you can get access to this information. We just got a new shipment of art that needs to be implemented in the game, but we should be ready to post the game by next Monday at the latest, but you can be reading docs until then.

It might be helpful to have an email sent out to those that have not faxed in the NDAs. I know I faxed my in the first or second day they were available - but I can only hope it was received.

Again, very much looking forward to this!

I emailed mine in to both Bart and the email that was given in the NDA. I know it doesn't have my signature but it did say email was one of the approved methods. hope that is the case...

It's interesting, I was considering what exactly was meant by email as a response method. Was it referring to sending a scanned image of the of the signed doc, or just an acceptance of the terms via e-mail response?

Electronic signature requires "an electronic sound, symbol, or process, attached to or logically associated with a contract or other record and executed or adopted by a person with the intent to sign the record." So, an email response saying "I agree" to an agreement that is attached to the email a "process"? I've yet to see any case law directly on point, but most vendors seem to think not, as those using electronic signatures use a button on a website or embedded in a file or executable that acts as a "process" indicating agreement in the same forum as the terms.

I know I sent mine in as a scanned document and sent a reply as well asking for confirmation it was received. I sure hope it was. :)
