Things I'm doing until EIA arrives

Post by ZoomBoy27 »

While resigned to a late summer release of EIA - I want it to be that good since I'm buying at least 2 copies (if not 4 for some buddies in the local area) - I figured I wanted to get some stuff done/enjoyed before it arrives.

Things to do:
- on the gaming side of things
a) I've got SP:WAW The Lost Victories to get through at least once - I'm at Touch N Go - Dubno area. Those Russian tanks! I'm having difficulty in holding them back and I'm not getting much use out of my 3 88's
b) I want to Learn at least 2 planes in LO:MAC
c) I want to Explore some of the Deus Ex: Invisible War world.
d) I want to Finish another campaign in IL2 and maybe try a DeadisDead campaign or two
e) DOOM3 - I've bought a new computer just for that & LOMAC - Unreal ONSLAUGHT is my game of choice right now
f) make some 3D models for my friends for Unreal and Quake3

- I'm a hobbyist programmer/artist so my projects include -
a) making a Windows framework for some puzzle games. Maybe I'll port them to web-games or cell-phones
b) I'm a beta tester for the gameSpace/truepace 3D program and I'm producing some plug-ins
c) I'm creating my own RPG - should take a couple of years - I've got a very nice sprite editor and tile Cutter done up already

I expect, however, monthly updates and feature reports.

This will turn into a good community and I'm looking forward to that as well.

Geez, makes me look bad. I'll be lucky if I get the car washed by the time EIA arrives.[>:]

I'm ready right now! Just send your first turn![:D]

Wanna give it a go right out of the box? Or do you need time to figure out all of the exploits? Don't worry, we can re-start once the first patch is out.[:D]

(Just kidding, I know you don't use any exploits.)

Well, one thing I started on was coding a battle odds calculator (battle simulator?) for EIA/H battles. However, after a while I realized, how hard is it to calculate odds in your head? I mean, you don't need a sofisticated engine to give you decent odds in this game. It's not like Axis&Allies where the battles continue to go on recursively until one side is totaly eliminated (no retreat rules sucks!). So instead of continuing on with a useless product I shelved it for now.

Well, until EiA arrives, I am playing the Grand Campaing with some friends, we are now in jan 1809, so I hope not to finish my boardgame before the PC version!!

Curious about the game can check our help-web, in spanish most of it, sorry [8D]

If that is supposed to be an odds calculator then yes, that is what I was working on.

Well, for those not interested in EiA as a boardgame of tactics and diplomacy and where asking for 3D and realtime battles you can check out this game, looks good, but it is not EiA [:)]
