MIA: Bangalore Torpedoes?

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

MIA: Bangalore Torpedoes?

Post by AbsntMndedProf »

It is my understanding that U.S. engineer units used a device called a bangalore torpedo to create openings in barbed wire obstacles and to destroy other obstacles. This device was composed of a series of pipes, the end section being filled with explosives. Lengths of the pipe would be added until the end section was under the target, and then it would be detonated. Just wondering why the U.S. engineers in SP:WaW don't seem to use these?

I agree with Grumble : Engineer Class units have approx. twice the removal capacities of infantry when barbed wires are concerned.
