HTTR Guide

Panther Games' Highway to the Reich revolutionizes wargaming with its pausable, continuous time game play and advanced artificial intelligence. Command like a real General, under real time pressures to achieve real objectives on a real map all within the fog of war. Issue orders to your powerful AI controlled subordinates or take total control of every unit. Fight the world's most advanced AI opponent or match wits against your friends online or over a LAN. Highway to the Reich covers all four battles from Operation Market Garden, including Arnhem, Nijmegen, Eindhoven and the 30th Corps breakout from Neerpelt.

Posted today (4/20).
A fair bit of that sort of information is contained in the Strategy Guide, which will hopefully be on sale in the near future.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

I have been waiting for this for a while now. The game is great and easy to get into, but to learn how to play right I might be able to do with your guide. Thanks again.

Hmmm.... a spoiler....

How about the Contents pages? This is a heavily compressed and shrunk screenshot, but the original is in a high-quality pdf file that can be zoomed in quite a long way.

Thanks 33 !

I can't wait to put my hands on this ! [:D]

The Player Guide seems to have what I am looking for: how to make a plan and tips on manoeuver your forces correctly. And, finally, an OOB for us OOB-obsessed wargamers [;)]

I am curious also to what I will find in the Market-Garden analysis section...interesting.

Actually, it is being review by the Matrix Game's Office of Information. The censors want to make sure that nothing is divulged that would compromise the military preparadness of staff or beta-testers in case we are called into action against the forces of darkness. So, I suspect the copy which you ultimately received will look like swiss cheese. :)

Let me guess, they need to reduce the font to make it all fit on a standard CD cover [:D]

That would probably make sense ... military strategy really hasn't changed in 2000 odd years, only thing we have changed is the size of the club and how far the rocks get thrown [:D]

The only part of the Strategy Guide that is descended from the RDOA manual is the Campaign Analysis. AFAIK Steve Barnes has pretty heavily rewritten that, certainly the RDOA historical section did not include the details of battles outside Arnhem.

The Player Guide is all new - I know because I wrote it from scratch, with some help from MarkShot. There was an Order of Battle in the old RDOA manual but the one in the HTTR Strategy Guide was written from scratch, by me, directly from the scenario template.
