Good Grumman altitudes?

Post by m10bob »

I've been playing UV as long as anybody here, but you CAN teach an old dog new tricks.
In your opinion, what is the best altitude for Grumman F4F's to fly cover?..
As I recall,P40's and P39's have to fly at 10,000 feet or suffer for lack of supercharging..

P39's suffer problems over 10 000ft

As for the F4's, well the best altitude is 3000ft above the bombers coming in. They arent really consigned to a good height bad height type scenario.

As for general rules of CAP I tend to have it scattered over 6-18 000ft

By the way its only the P39's and the P400's that suffer above 10 000ft, i dont think the P40's (Kityhawks and Warhawks) do.
