adding icons

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

adding icons

Post by Steve Hamilton »

I have made icons and imported other icons made by other people and overwrote existing icons so the new ones could be used. What I want to know is if it is possible to add icons and assign them symbol numbers so I could use them without replacing any of the wonderfull existing icons.

Hey Steve,

Those kind of things are done with what is called an OOB editor. I have never used one and it can be tricky. There is one included with SPWAW and you can give it a try.

I do strongly recommend you back up any OOB with which you experiment, just in case.

Steve, if I read what you are asking correctly, I believe also shipped with the download was a map of the icons, I made, or redid all the icons for the game, as far as the vehicles, troops etc. I am still running the beta version, if you don't see a "Icon Data List", feel free to E-mail me at either dasreich@attglobal.net, or mikea@thegamers.net. This still has many 'open' slots to put new icons in, be forwarned though, that I am always making new ones, so back up the original,k?!
