Buy or Wait.

Post by wodin »

Should I buy this game at full price or wait for War agianst Japan?

Or wait for UV to come down inprice and try it with the intention if I like it to buy War against Japan.

Off Topic

I got hold off Battle of Britian and must say what a cracking game. Though I need alot of time to invest in it. Which with a demanding wife and 3 year old makes it very difficult:(

UV has been a great servant to me, and was the best games I have ever bought. Ive been playing the game solidly since Aug 2002. When you consider that most other games I tire of rather quickly, thats an impressive effort.

It all depends on if you can wait for WitP in a couple months.

UV is not only a great training manaul for WitP, but a great game in its own right. When you consider that some of the cool things that they have put into WitP are going to be retrofitted into UV, it just adds to its value.

Just get Uncommon Valor already. You'll find it to be a nice training ground for War in the Pacific, which will be a real monster!
So much WitP and so little time to play.... :-(

Okay, how about your system specs, driver versions, etc.

What's running in the background on your machine?

Have you tried updating the drivers?

Sounds like a PII/400 should be enough? What about RAM? Or Drive space?

Could be your Video Driver needs to be updated. Been playing games for a long time. Usually its the Video Driver.

I'm sure that alot of people in the Forum can help. Just make sure you try to be as specific as possible. Once you get the game up, you won't stop playing.

Cheer's.

This is really a matter of personal taste.

If like me you really liked Carriers at War then you probably won't like UV. I bought it played one scenario and dumped it. Others as you will note think its brilliant, I thought it was fundamentally flawed and couldn't be bothered with it.

Just hoping War in the Pacific will be better.

Upgrade upgrade upgrade!

Your CPU....your graphics card...everything. You'll want to upgrade for WiTP if you decide to purchase just for the reason of getting a turn executed in a reasonable amount of time given the incredible amount of information that our PC's will have to process. Image

Hi,

What do You mean by "doesn't work"? In which moment the games stops to work?

Is that during installation process or while the game starts? Or maybe it gives some error (ie. insert original CD or sth.)?

If I were you, I would check those background progs. Especially I would disable all virtual disk drivers (like those in Alcohol 120%), as they have possibility to emulte SecuRoms, SafeDisks and other CD-protection system.

Personally I had problem with Kerio Personal Firewall, which settings were set too high (accidentially I pressed wrong button) and it dissaloved me to use some programs.

Hope this will be helpful...
Regards,
Radzy
