Go have a look here.

This might be an interesting usage of HTTR's engine, since it seems the CGSOC (Command and General Staff Officers Course) of the US Army could be interested in using it in a modern combat version.

Could be interesting. Let's see about it, though. It seems that those guys at GS are either using or evaluating every decent wargame on the market these days.

Just to confirm that we are talking to various defence establishments about customising our game engine to meet their needs. We are currently doing two scoping studies with the Australian Department of Defence. One for the possible provision of a WW2 game on Op Goodwood to be used to assist in the training of Australian Army officers in military history. The other is to look at options for developing a modern joint operations game based on our game engine. We will be seeing representatives from the US Army Command and Staff College at Ft Leavenworth, the US Marine Corps at Quantico and the Naval War College at Newport when we visit the US late next month. So yes things are happening a plenty here. [:)][8D]

This is great Dave [:D]

I'm happy to see that HTTR is also having success with the military. I guess that represents more opportunities for you to enhance and continue working on your baby - as long as some of the features you may design for the military do find their way in the civilian versions if possible. Let's think about us here [:)]

wow, the military is finally gonna use a product that's pretty?!
It is sincerity and faithfulness. It is self-sacrifice, duty, adherence to principle and unwavering loyalty to one's lord despite what the lord stands for, good or evil. It is an acceptance of one's place and status.

Very interesting news and congratulations! Will it be possible to play it as a Company commander and receive orders from your Brigade commander and then execute them? (too see what effects your moves have on the grand strategy)

I think that being a company commander would be boring as hell. Perhaps you meant a battalion/regiment commander, since companies are the lowest single units in HTTR, so there is not much fun in controlling a single unit. HTTR is not at a tactical level like Combat Mission. Now, even acting as a battalion commander, in my point of view, would be too limited of a role. Division commander could be more appropriate.

You are correct I was thinking about a battalion commander.
