AA Guns

Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

AA Guns

Post by mavraam »

I just played my first scenario last night as the Russians in the West only.

I thought I noticed 2 of my units were anti-air.

Assuming I read that right, what are these exactly?

Are they esentially anti tank guns (like a German 88 flak) and should be used
to defend against armor?

Are they ranged weapons?

Do they defend against air interdiction or tactical bombing?

Am I losing my mind?

In KP they essentially act as a light anti-tank unit. In BiN they become extremely important as anti-aircraft will reduce the effect of air interdiction within the unit's effective range. Will become one of the most valuable units in the new game.
