Update Theory

1. I bought UV last year - I'm pretty sure after July.
2. I have had problems trying to run the game with patches.
3. Bought a new PC today and loaded the original disk - ran fine and stated it was version 2.30
4. Patch 2.30 only came out very recently?
5. Read .pdf file for updates to v.2.30 and it says it was released on 3 July 2003
6. Am I stupid presuming v.2.30 only comes from patch 2.30?

Question - do you think I had version 2.30 (and consequently patch 2.30) all along on my disk (hence the game told me I had the wrong disk when I tried to run 2.10, 2.11 and 2.20 from it). In other words did the disks produced after July 2003 have version 2.30 and it just took ages for the patch to be released.

The disk was bought in the UK and is distributed by a UK company - maybe even produced by them with files from Matrix?

Finally someone please confirm I am up to date if my version is showing 2.30.

Not sure about which version came out on disk, but yes, 2.30 is the latest version of UV, from July 03.

I feel your pain - over the years had several good games (imho) not run well on my computer..... fortunately UV was not one of em

Disk came out in two versions. So chances are you got the latest version.

Got an e-mail from Justplaynow.com who state the disk did come out in two versions. I need to register with them to get a definitive answer re version 2.30 but their website is screwed up at the moment.

So if you bought UV in the UK in the last 9 months chances are you don't need to patch the game at all.

"Hi,

yes the Just Play version (UK, Europe) is allready at v2.3. You don´t need to patch it. It will not work when you apply the US version patches.
