PBEM Question

Post by bradv »

I am new at this so please bare with me. Just starting a new PBEM game and we are having some difficulties already. The manual is not clear on this but I am assuming that the only file I need to send to my opponent is the *.uvs file that was created after I finished my turn, is ths correct?

Thanks,
Brad

To play the game all you need to send is the *uvs file. As the Japanese player you send the combat report and combat save file also, so that the Allied Player can view what happen during the combat phase. If don't sent those files the Allied player can't see what happen. As the Allied PLayer the only file that needs to be sent is the *uvs file.

Another newbw question. I just sent my first turn every in a PBEM game as Japan. After sending it I decided to reload the save game to plot strategy etc. When I did it was the allied turn and I could view all allied deployments. Of course its turn 1 so its no big deal but is this possible throughout the game. It would seem to invite cheating.

This shouldn't be a problem. During Turn 1, the game asks each player in a PBEM game to type in a password to be used throughout the duration of the game. The player creates that password before entering orders for turn 1. Without that password, you can't get into the file to view deployments. This keeps PBEM opponents from being able to cheat.

Thanks, I figured something like that. The only problem is that is is apparently possible to view when the allied ships and troops will be available. I resisted the temptation but did check to see if it would open and it did.

Am I being stupid.

Do you have to send the file by normal e-mail as PM doesn't accept *uvs or does everyone zip them

If not Blackwatch_it - can you send me your e-mail address?

Cheers

Is there any way to turn off auto sub operations once a PBEM game is started. The manual says it can be done from the toolbar and I can change this in games vs. the AI. In PBEM gamesthe option is grayed out.

In AI games you can change any setting but it is not allowed in a PBEM.
