Does the # next to Houston indicate that it is the flagship? Also, the skipper of USS Houston (and tf commander) should be Albert Rooks, is this an error or was he killed in the bombing (the real Rooks won the Medal of Honor, posthumously of course)?
Lovin this thread. The way you're going thru those turns, one would almost get the idea that WitP is FUN!

Most impressive. [8D] I am enjoying the show. Great use of air assets on your part. Given the hit ratios I assume the bomber crews are now pretty good - all you need are full wings of planes.
The IJN carriers popping up by Kendari were cool, if brutal. I assume you did not expect them, or is the loss of the Asiatic Fleet necessary if used agressively?
On the other hand keeping the PoW not only afloat but in good shape is interesting. I thought using PoW for some bombardment of the advancing Japanese forces on the west coast of Malaya, say Kuala Lumpur, might have been in order, or is that too risky? Buffalos getting pretty low, so cap is thin.
What is up at Mandalay? The Japanese plane losses are severe. Is the AVG at work?
So far the only thing really annoying was the PoW task force having a *daylight* engagement with a transport taskforce and having about half of the transports apparently get away. A couple of cruisers would have sufficed to sink every last one in the "real world." Reminds me of PacWar. Suppose I'll have to get used to it. An engagement in twilight, or heavy rain squalls, or some such could have made such an outcome possible, but still unlikely. Well now that I'm warmed up, I'd also say that the casualties from transports torpedoed in mid ocean are ridiculously low. That's also PacWar behavior. But, then again the AI deserves some help.
Also the number of exposures of IJN BBs to LBA attack is a little unsettling. In six months allied air will have ten - twenty times the planes per attack, and the BBs, if the AI sticks them out there, will get clobered.
PoW was so low on ammo by that point I think the guys were shooting star shells [:D]
Kendari was not expected. I had thought I had tracked KB up by Miri. 6 DD's got out of that alive, only 3 have made it to Oz, the others are still repairing floatation damage so I can get them out. I'm running out of time.
Mandalay was a cap bounce effect, one of the new rules tucked in. Sometimes CAP gets the bounce instead of the Escort and kicks arse! [8D] Not only the AVG, but two other groups that I pulled out of PI are there helping out so it's a good mix of groups. I now have some Hurricanes there too. Lets hope she holds, but the troops are pulling up now. [:(]
