I Pose A Question To You All

I believe I can get a team togeather to begin MODing StarShatter, currently I am R&Ding what may be the best to go with. So I pose a question to the community:

Would you rather see a Star Trek TNG-era mod, OR a Space: Above & Beyond themed Mod, thanks for reading and please post your comments!

Personally I'd rather see a TNG mod, but S:A&B is pretty cool too. I feel like there is wayy more info about TNG era than S:A&B.

Seconded! I'd live to see a good Trek mod - TOS, Movies, or TNG. I kind of stopped watching Trek after that...

IMHO Original Trek would be the best of the 3 listed because the phasers on TNG ships would be extremely irritating to mod. Doable, but you couldn't get the exact effect. I think we tried to hash it out but couldnt get it to work BITD.

S:A&B is really sketch about info avaliable. I know theres enof to do a mod with but really, whats going to get the most attention?

BTW: if u have any questions about moding Ss just drop me a PM.

This game was built for a S:AAB mod! The fighters, the carriers, realistic fleet modelling etc. It's all already there! Whilst, when we look at Star Trek (especially the Original Series), there are few opportunities for fighter combat (only DS9 even showcases Federation fighters), and fewer still for carriers (which don't exist in the Star Trek universe per se, they only exist in Star Fleet Battles).

There are plenty of technical info sites for SAAB fighter craft and ships. I've even seen blueprints of the Saratoga (the big carrier).

If you want a mod that would be relatively easy to do and implement, instead of the headache that would be Star Trek a la Starshatter, I suggest SAAB is the way to go.

Well thats why I was suggesting Original Trek, it wouldn't be nearly the headache TNG would be ;)

Know what I think'd be cool? A Starfleet command 2 era mod. This would be enterprise A-ish time period, which includes fighters and missiles (at least according to SFC) and they dont have the TNG/DS9/VOY phasor banks. I guess you'd call it a 'movie' era mod.

I'll go with that... much more interesting than the TNG rubbish. Actually, a specific Starshatter Star Fleet (as opposed to Star Trek) universe mod would be very cool... I would get to play with Hydran fighters again [:D] The emphasis on fighters and missiles as well as the usual phasers/photons would work pretty well in SS, I think.

Thinking about it more, a SFC mod would kick the crud out of a ST:TNG mod, all the ships are in the game, values can be pulled off them for shields/armor weapons stats can be deriived from the in-game stats, i think its a pretty awesome idea, if i do say so myself [:D]

I vote for the ball-turret era of ST! Primaries instead of beams, a la STII.

Starshatter already feels a LOT like space above and beyond (no shields, focus on missiles, military focus).

If you do a movie era startrek mod I might have a ship for you

1701A Its going to be the most accurate game model ever made for this ship, its going to be 2 deetails also, a 10-12k model for Bridgecommander, and a lower poly 3-4k model for other games.

i"ll post more when its getting closee to being done.
