"Semi Historic" Scenarios and UV 2.30

Post by sabreman1966mcs »

Hi guys,

Over on Spooky's site are a couple of "semi historic" scenarios, based on Scenarios 16 & 17. Judging from the dates they were uploaded they are pretty old, so I was wondering just how compatable they were with version 2.30. If anyone has any experience of them and using them in 2.30 can you let me know please.

Hi,

They should run fine. I believe you will still get all the rules based features in the subequent patches since the scenarios were originally created but none of the data base changes to the units themselves eg. changes in a ship class durability or belt protection level etc. etc.

So we're at war with the Russkies eh?? I suppose we really ought to invade or something. (Lonnnng pause while studying the map)

I have a rather relating question. What do you have to do to play a custom scenario pbem? Is it only neccessary for the Jap player to have it or do both players need it? If so, does one transfer them by sending all relating files created in the SAVE folder once you had created the scenario or are there just one or two essential ones? If so, which would those be?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info [:D] I was a little concerned when I saw a few disabled weapons on Yorktown at the start of the scenario, maybe they will get fixed on a trip to PH

Only the Japanese player has to have it.

Hi,

If by disabled you mean they're showing a value of "0" in red on the the Yorktown's data display then don't send it to Pearl Harbour or the damaged weapons will never be repaired due to a bug in the repair routine. Leave it in any size 5 or larger port until the weapon system(s) are repaired then send it back to Pearl if you have another reason to do so.

I know, completely off topic, but I have to say "hi" to another Harry Flashman devotee.

Yup, I read that in a previous thread and also experienced it the hard way ages ago [X(] Anyway, Yorktown is currently heading to Cairns to get patched up again before transferring to a larger port for more substantial repairs [8|] Will see what happens when she gets there

Cheers [:)]
