Not to be overly anal or anything but.......

Post by Brady »

well maybe I am but this is not right:

"Gary Grigsby's strategic level wargame covering the entire War in the Pacific from 1941 to 1945 or beyond. Every naval unit and air unit are represented with daily turns. Every aspect of the war is now yours to play. "

Every Naval Unit and Air Unit is Not represented, in fact we all know thousands are not in the game.

And every aspect of the war is bit much as well, many aspects are left out.

I know I am nit picking but realy this is a bit much. Certainly this is an awsome game, the scale and scope are stagering, and I am realy lloking forward to geting it, I just expected more truth in the advertising[:)]

Don't worry, Brady. For you, you're being just the right amount of "anal"---we wouldn't
change you if we could. But I'm afraid advertising "hype" will be with us always..., even
in the game industry. The folks that write that garbage aren't the designers or the pro-
grammers. They are in "marketing" and "sales"---a world located somewhere between
Shangri-la and Never-Never Land.

People are more likely to look at the game's home page, which is accurate.

Brady, within a week of you getting the game, we will expect all these thousands of missing ships documented and named and ready for inclusion in a future patch. Don't forget to list each and every upgrade that may have happened in detail so each ship has a valid upgrade path.

You get an extra week to cover off and document each missing air group as well as the number of aircraft they had during each stage of the war and any upgrades they may have had.

I'm happy that you have come forward to take on this enormous task.

Don't forget the harbor tugs and yachts that could be used for harbor patrol.

OK.., if it's "pick on Brady day. Don't forget the balloons to bomb the
West Coast of the US with. Those 2 civilian casualties might be decisive.

Why stop there. There can be tribal squads armed with spears to pick off Japanese stragglers in the jungle.

I expect detail too! If that row boat got upgraded to 4 oars instead of 2, we need to include it on the list!

Oh, jeez. Now you've done it, Mike. Now we have to consider the forest fires these balloons caused, which affect the environment, weather patterns, which in turn affect storms, a/c flights... Has THIS been modeled, or scheduled for patch one???

I for one refuse to buy this game unless there is an option to add the USS Nimitz from the movie The Final Countdown. [:D][:D][:D]

I think I had the option in Carrier War as some goofy add on.

It's even more serious, one has to calculate the speed effect the change in winds will cause on the sail boats!

And the sub attack on Hollywood, ala the movie 1941. Can't forget that. Is John Belushi modeled???

Don't forget the ash and debris being washed into streams. Could cause a serious
problem for the salmon spawning and the fisheries industry.

I can forgive the lack of the Nimitz but don't tell me those high altitude balloons Japan launched on the NW are not included. Don't even tell me that!!!

I will forgive these blatant omissions if I can download the real game soon.[&o]

Hmm, you mean Exxon had Japanese ship captains who held a grudge after the war? [X(]

Nope, I think we managed to do this one all by ourselves...
