Subs reloading on mines

Post by Fallschirmjager »

How do you make a sub reload its provision of mines?
The only way I can seem to do it, is to disband the TF and then reform it with a mine warfare mission.

I do the same, except for the real minelayer submarines (Argonauts and I-121, 122, 123) that rearm mines and torpedoes like otehr submarines rearm torpedoes.

Ok thanks
I thought I was missing something
All I have right now are a group of the POS S class subs. Its early in the game and I am despertly waiting for some better subs.

The bad news is that this is the only way to reload mines. The good news is that this has been fixed in WitP. Now a TF reloads at port according to mission.

Well until the end of 1942 the S-boats are the only subs you have that have working torpedoes. Even if their survavbility and endurance is worst than the Gato and other subs, they are at least able to score hits regularly.

I personnaly use other subs for minelaying: they are faster and so minefields grow faster and so they don't use faulty torpedoes.

According to the v1.10 changes item #17 you can only rearm mines at Truk or Noumea. I don't know if that was changed again in a later update.

You can also reload mines at Brisbane, Elmo3. Not sure which patch it was, but, now allied ships can use both ports. IJN is still constrained to reloading at Truk tho.
