I don't actually read any combat reports.

I would be good if you could throw in some screen shots from time to time. especially to show off anything different to UV.
-

Oooops! Ooops, Thanks for the screenies!

Regarding the ground combat. Do the numbers represent the number of soldiers or do they represent the combat power of each side.

The relative combat power is useful information. The no of men manning shore guns is not useful because in ground combat they are almost useless.

They represent the assault values. As the combat takes place, the factors change showing the effects then the combat actually takes place and you see the factors reduced. Then the odds are worked out. You need to watch a couple with message delays up to see exactly what is what so you clearly understand. I'll stick together some screens for you in the main forum.

BTW I think I will stick to playing 2 day turns. I thought I would not like it but as it turns out I think it is much more fun. Everything appears to move faster and I think it adds to the FOW because things change so much between turns and you can pull off some risker moves.

One important note to this. Once there are 0 planes left, you can not transfer the group out because there is nothing to transfer. Don't push your luck 'too far'.

Noticed you did not use DDs in the BB group (unavailable at this time perhaps). One thing I'm not happy with is the assumption that all ships in a BB group must bombard and that DDs must close the range to do so. They always get creamed by shore batteries.

Ron, If I've told you once, I've told you a million times! MORE ships! Suppress the buggers! [:D]

You only get creamed when you play their odds. Overpower them.

Little bit of action this turn.....sorry for the delay folks....my fault....was away at a 3 day Event camp. Two Philippine Militia
divisions were destroyed this phase and it looks like Chiang Kai-Kid's latest offensive move to appease Roosevelt has failed. Having broken the truce (Yenen doesn't count.... [:'(] ) Imperial GHQ may have to consider reopening the offensive on the mainland....teach those Kids a lesson yuk yuk ah i kill me sometimes...

In other areas, I cant fault my opponent's moves and he appears to be the first other PBEM'er to follow my example and not try to hold Rangoon. My own moves continue to be conservative, allowing Kid to continue evacuating forces and resources. In a way its more historical on my part but its mainly due to my inexperience and lack of Turn 1 preperation. But i'm getting better at covering my forward bases
