SU and the WA have put a peace plan on the table. GE and JA are considering it...

CH is ignoring all discussions regarding a peace plan, they are just getting started with JA. [:D]

SU and the WA have put a peace plan on the table.

Based on the research screen you posted, I'm not surprised. 11 mech/armor units in the field to 1 allied. Yowza.

It is indeed encouraging to read these AAR's and see vastly different results...this is not going to be your typical cut and paste strategy game....

Couple of questions on this play through:

1. Where do the victory conditions stand after the last round of Axis victories?

2. Were the WA able to share much supply with the SU?

the last GE turn i posted a screen of the Victory Calcualtions (the strategic map picture). it shows the Allies are at 97% of the Axis production.

at the end of the game (if it gets that far) here are how the current victory conditions work (i think):
0 to 500% = Axis Decisive Victory
501 - 1000% = Axis Minor Victory
1000% - 2000% = Allied Minor Victory
2000%+ = Allied Decisive Victory

so allies need 10 times (1000%) the production of the axis by the end of the game.

as far as 1941/42 goes it was in the region of a draw, is my guess

this is all subject to change yet...

Not having the game right in front of me, I believe we are still in the "draw" category, with the increased USA production in 1942 - but its close, real close to opening up an Axis Victory.

I was able to send a good amount of supply to Russia through Persia, but it wasn't really making that much difference....there are some additional changes to the build that we want to test - so we're probably going to discontinue this PBEM & start a new one.

Due to testing time constraints though, don't expect a blow-by-blow like we've posted so far - you will see more AAR's, but we're moving into a new testing phase which is going to take up a lot more of our efforts.

Don't worry though, we'll still be here posting & giving you guys updates. Thanks for all the questions so far & keep them coming - we'll answer them to the best of our abilities (and non-disclosure agreements [:D])

2. Were the WA able to share much supply with the SU?

paullus will have to answer that, but we were using advanced supply rules. So unlike game 2 where i could just bring up the Lend Lease screen and magically zap 80 supply to the SU, paullus had to maintain a chain of transports to a SU region (hopefully that had a rail network) and strat move the supply to the SU. each transport can handle 40 supply, so he would need a chain of 2 transports in every sea area from the start of the supply move to the end.

i THINK he may have been dropping supply in Persia, but Persia does not have a rail line and it would have to be walked (supply have 1 MP) to a SU region with rail.

As far as I can tell militia units can't even damage your armor, they just gum-up your tank treads with their innards.

Well, thanks to you guys for keeping us all entertained. I look forward to whatever you're allowed to post in the future.

Are you allowed to give us any hints about what's coming in the "new testing phase"?

Actually correct current rules are:

If at the end of any turn the Axis production is ever 50% greater than Allied production (all numbers in this section to be tweaked later), than the Axis win a Decisive victory. If I understand this right - this would mean nomber on the victory screen should be 66 or lower for Axis to win immediate Decisive vic.

If at the end of any turn the Allied production is 10 times Axis production, the Allies win a Decisive Victory. This means victory screen showing 1000.

If at the end of the Oct 45 turn, Allied production is between 5 and 9 times Axis production, the game is an Allied Marginal Victory. This means victory screen showing number between 500 and 999 (I guess?)

If at the end of the Oct 45 turn, Allied production is between 2 and 4 times Axis production, the game is a draw. Victory screen showing number between 200 and 499.

If at the end of the Oct 45 turn, Allied production is not at least 2 times Axis production, the game is an Axis Marginal victory. Victory screen showing anything between 101 and 199

If at the end of the Oct 45 turn, Allied production is not greater than Axis production, the game is an Axis Decisive Victory. Victory screen showing anything between 66 and 100

Joel will correct me if I made a mistake [:D]

Gentlemen,

Thank you all for the most informative AARs I have ever seen in a pre-release product. It has been very entertaining and I eagerly await this game!

A Few thoughts.

Post by Largus_Means »

Well I have read all the AARs so far with great intrest and excitement. This is the game that I have been waiting for for a long long time. (other then WiF or AWaW) One thing that I have noticed so far in each AAR is that the big 3 variables in the game havent changed and probably never will. That is Spain, Sweden and Turkey. Now I know that its been stated many times over already that politics will not be part of this game, but its the one thing that has bothered me from the first AAR. The addition of these countries to a game will add a different spice to the replayablity. Has the possiblity of varients been mulled over to add as an option to game play. 100-150 varients could be thrown in with one being revealed at the start of each new turn, affecting only one major power. Things like Sweden sending resources to Germany, USA lend lease options, techs being discovered suddenly, Spain or Turkey joining the war, Uprisings in provinces which place partisans (Iraq, Ireland, Egypt) etc etc. This would greatly enhance an already wonderful looking game. Obviously you could have many varients that didnt do anything so that each turn wouldnt have odd things happening, but 1 or 2 here and there could throw in a surprise and cause major headaches for one side or the other.

Please keep up the good work, and thanks for the AARs, they are very fun to read.

Great AAR, its good to see how the AARs have vastly different outcomes, this one with Japan strong and advancing towards Moscow. It will be interesting to see how the AI compares.
