updates needed from 5.01 to 7.x or 8.x

Post by Subedei »

It has been awhile since I played SPWAW. In fact, it has been since 5.01 that I played last. I want to play MCDF (I have the original 5.01 CD) in 8.x but cannot find any patches from earlier than 7.x. I have read the forums and they simply suggest downloading the patches. if any exist from 5.01 I am sadly unable to find them. Any suggestions as to what to do (without buying MCDF again - I am sorely broke) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I just realized I likely posted this in the wrong forum. Oops. Admins, help?

DEsert Fox was designed for use with Version 5. It should work perfectly with that OOB version. There is no need to upgrade the OOB to a later version.
They struggled with a ferocity that was to be expected of brave men fighting with forlorn hope against an enemy who had the advantage of position......knowing that courage was the one thing that would save them.

Or you could wait a few more days and get version 8.2 and then install Desert Fox. It is not very likely that you'll encounter any serious problems. With 8.01 I think the only bug is that lewis lmg teams look like trucks [8D]
