Lightning strike yesterday took out my e-mail program and who knows what else. Just got teh cable up and running again. Will have to re-load outlook sometime later today after the honey-do list is completed.

I thought i was coming down with a cold.....symptoms include

-feelings of invincibility
- the sure knowledge that everything i say and do is right
- thoughts that i should begin to be loved by the general mass
- the conviction that Yankees are only good at cooking hot dogs, unless its at an AM/PM store.

-the uncontrollable urge to send taunting emails to Allied opponent. (particularily risky since that opponent is the test team manager and therefore one's BOSS)

- Looking at PI already as the world's biggest POW camp.


Is there a cure? Probably.....conduct a shock attack on Clarke Field ....... [X(]

Was it worth it? To sink maybe a dozen? and wreck a dozen more transports you just gave away the location of KB. After two turns of fighting and ops no less.

Kid isn't upset - he's laughing as he knows where your cvs are at long last - and for a relatively cheap price. Every other spot on the map will be teaming with allied activity now they know they're safe int he short term.

KB being "hidden" only serves a useful purpose if you have a bunch of unprotected operations going on and you fear Allied retribution as a result. Further.....Kid already had a good idea where KB was anyway since it was used to help secure Rabaul only in the last week and a half....even at Full Speed.....KB can only change locations so fast.

Lastly....any substantial disruption/destruction of merchant shipping in the Oz area is going to cause the Allied player headaches. Remember i managed to get all the way to 5/42 in the 3day AAR with Pry.....so i have some experience with trying to set up and maintain that LOOOOONG lifeline from the West coast to OZ, complete with trying to move LCU and BG/FG assets. Its a pain....it takes time, and it takes alot of merchants.....merchants you have to take away from other operations and from the autoconvoy system. Merchants are the key in this game, not warships.....oh dont get me wrong...catching 2-4 of Kid's CV's would be a glorious boon as it would give me free reign to do alot more crap without having to cover my P's and Q's....but i doubt a savaay player like him is going to give me much of an opportunity to do that....meanwhile the clock ticks.

KB is a force that, like other Japanese assets must be husbanded and conserved...but to do that too much is to go down the historical road that Japan actually trod......always hoarding their assets waiting for that "decisive battle" that always seemed just around the corner.....only when it finally came and they committed fully (1944) it was too late. Meanwhile in the present, other opportunities pass you by. I have it.....i plan to use it.....let my enemy beware [X(] (besides which....its FUN! [:'(] )

I"ve yet to see Kid get upset by much of anything in a PBEM. Maybe if i sink his favorite warship or something [:D]
