Curious about DX

Noting some of the problems with DX, I thought I'd ask...

Have most of the problems been noted with conflicts or simply drivers not being signed or supported? I've had programs work like a champ when DX was updated, yet sound or video or both weren't supported... Obviously not the case when conflicts existed however... Seem to remember Sound Blaster 16's were a bit troublesome... [X(]

Just wanted to get an idea in advance... Hopefully I won't have any problems with this system of mine, but I've shed enough blood, sweat and tears on DX since it came out where I might be able to help on occasion via the board... [8D]

Microsoft has basically changed their signing policy. You can have signed versions of drivers or you can have functional current versions of drivers. The costs to go though the process to get it signed outweigh the value.

Get your drivers directly from the hardware guys support site. It is always going to be a better bet.

Agree with you totally there... They must have a standard practice of only "signing off" on certain companies... Else they wouldn't even list that option any longer... At any rate, I should be good to go... Just need to get my claws on the game now. LOL! [8D]
