Crash

Hi,

I am having trouble with the game crashing at irregular intervals. The game disapears and my PC goes back to the desktop. I restart and it can work for a minute or 20. I am running Win 98, amd 500, 196 mb ran, hd 13gig, matroxg400 video.

I love the game and want to make it work.

Any ideas anyone?

I got a report that someone fixed this problem by going back to Directx 6.1. SOunds like a video driver problem

Ditto on Paul's advice, I've heard some nasty reports on Dx7.

Also: Make sure you have the latest video drivers for your card.

And: Check Startup in System Information, there might be all kinds of stuff running in the background you don't know about.

Annnnnnnd: Don't run the game from Start.bat. Try starting the game from Intro.exe, you might be surprised at the results.

I will say that SP2 & SPWWII used to crash regularly with stack overflows. I haven't seen anything in SPWAW that is unstable. Great programing job Matrix!
