I have the game, but when I play I get CTD everytime the combat simulation plays. Anyone else have this problem?

Check on the support board, it seems that you are not alone in having that problem. Renaming the sound directory to "nosound" (or whatever really) should at least stop the game crashing, even tho you naturally wont have sound until a patch is released [:)]

I remember reading that the game requires Directx 8.0 or 9.0c, but maybe c is really b.

I upgraded my Window Directx sysytem last night, using a 56k modem, took about 40 min.

I have the same problem...........combat sounds crash the game to desktop with auidigy..........grrrrrrr.......made the "SOUND FILE" into "NOSOUND"......game works fine without sound! So atleast i can play it on wifes computer! My system is still WinME and on mine I can't play at all despite having done all the upgrades.From what i have been told WinMe is just not going to be able to work untill a patch comes out.

Run DXDIAG and slide your accelation to basic on the sound tab. Reboot and see if it still happens.
