# of campaigns?

Post by piperone »

How many total campaigns are there in the retail version? Just downloaded and still saw only two "available". Just wondered. BTW, stumbled upon this 2 days ago and I couldn't believe it. Hence the retail is on my HD NOW.

Thanks for this great game.

There are a total of five campaigns, four of which are dynamic. Each campaign takes place in a different set of star systems. They are:

01. Operation Live Fire - scripted training campaign
02. Operation Highland
03. Operation Shining Fortress
04. Operation Firestorm
05. Operation Nightfall

You initially have access to Live Fire and Highland. You need to complete each dynamic campaign to get access to the one that follows it. Once you have successfully completed Highland, you get access to Shining Fortress and so on.

Good luck!

Let us know when you get through the whole thing. Bear in mind that some stuff happens in 04 and 05 that nobody knows about yet, so please try to be careful with spoilers...

Milo,

I just ordered the CD (I am using good-old fashioned dial-up). I haven't gotten this excited about a new game in a LONG time.[:D] Outstanding work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your willingness to listen and respond to official and un-official beta testers has truly made this a remarkable experience.

Thanks for the quick answer John. That's what I thought, but I was just curious. One thing I noted after discovery of the game is your attention here in the forums. Not only did you get the game right, the support here is unseen, at least by me.

And, thanks for the sample Cruiser for the mods.

Dragonlead, I agree. Sorry about the dial up. I'm in the boonies and just got wireless broadband. Makes finding something like this REALLY nice. I understand though.

The wild thing is, I also purchased WiP. Good thing it's a long weekend! Although I'll probably spend more time in the future than in the past. Immediate gratification if you will.

WiP (or WitP) == War In The Pacific, another great game that happens to be released today along with StarShatter and Steel Panthers World At War: General's Edition. Lots of folks are going to have a very busy weekend splitting time between these gems. [8D]

War In the Pacific. Released today as well for DD and CD on Demand from the store. I actually used to play the War In The Pacific boardgame by SPI. Right until the cat wiped out the entire pacific one jump.

Just printed the tutorial. Late night tonight cause I have to get through "some" missions in Highlands. Again, a good thing it's a long weekend.

Believe me, we know... I'm operating on about my fourth wind and some caffeine and sugar at this point having still not entirely recovered from Origins where we also in effect released all three at once.
